How can I prove my income in the UK and Ireland for last year?

I worked in Dublin for a few months last year and England for a few months, and now I need to prove my income to apply for a student grant. I’ve not received a P60 from either employers because I was not working for them at the end of the Irish or British tax years, but if you know where my P60 would have gone or where I can get hold of one that would be great.

No, HMRC (old Inland Revenue) do NOT issue form P60s! These are issued by employers in the UK at the end of each tax year to employees who were actually in employment as at 5th April.
If you left an employment in England mid-year, employer should have given you form P45 on leaving. That is a leaver’s equivalent to a form P60, and of equal legal status.
If you do not have form P45, employer is not allowed to issue a duplicate. He can however give you a signed letter on headed notepaper with the leaving details written on it, and that should be acceptable in absence of form P45.
Sorry, can’t help on the Republic bit.

wwhen applying for need based financial aid, do i need to send in examples of my work? how many? when applying for merit based, do i send in examples? do i need to write an essay? can i apply for both?

1) Yes, you need to send in examples, if your program of choice does not already require them.

2) This depends on your major…from what you said, I’m guessing intermediate, and something to do with visual arts? Look at the high school portfolio requirements for Advanced Drawing or Advanced Painting to get the general idea. You don’t have to send in all of it, but just enough to give the committee a reasonable idea of your work.

3) You need samples no matter what kind of aid you are requesting.

4) You only need to write an essay if it is required for admission to your major (as in high school creative writing).

5) You can apply for both; you check one or the other or both of them when you fill out your online application.

Hope I helped…it’s hard to know what to tell you without knowing your division/major.
