I have two kids in college, both are dependent on us and live at home. They are both however getting student loans which do not cover all tuition and books, and so we cover what the loans do not. They both received 1099 forms in the mail in their names for the tuition expenses. Can we put this on our taxes even though the forms are in their names?
Correction, the form that they received is the 1098T .

Financial Aid Jobs in Atlanta

financial aid jobs in atlanta
Online Schooling?

I am a full time worker and don’t have time to attend a classroom setting for college. Are there any online universities that I can attend and can use financial aid and be able to get a job with the degree. I live in Georgia near Atlanta…close to Lawrenceville, Duluth area. Being able to get a degree at home is very ideal for me. Any suggestions? i would like to major in Business Administration.

The great thing about online education is that you can enroll in classes, despite your actual home location. You and many other working professionals opt to enroll in online education because it allows for a more flexible, convenient schedule.

Have you researched schools that offer Business Administration programs? Also, what is the highest level of education you’ve already received? Whether you have your GED, some college credits, or an associates degree, there is a suitable Business Admin degree you’ll be able to begin. (see the first link).

As for financial aid, there are plenty of schools that offer assistance to students who need help financially. You can contact their financial aid offices directly and discuss the specifics of your situation.

Finally, before picking a school, be sure to compare and contrast costs, requirements and pre-requisites (if applicable) and any other characteristics about a school that you deem important. (check 2nd link)

Good luck!

Financial Aid Refund Check

Posted by Sandra Wright

financial aid refund check
When will I recieve my financial aid refund check from school?

I attend Baltimore City Community College. The financial aid office informed me that refund checks will be sent to people approximately 60 days after the semster starts. The semester started on january 26th. So will I get it on March 27th? What is the lastest I will recieve my refund check if it doesn’t come exactly on March 27th? Since they said approximately will I get it on March 27th for certain?

you should be able to go to the schools web site and look it up. By now most of the money should have been disbursed. Call your financial aid office and ask if they know when you will be receiving the payment
