Its funny how you guys use these public good services as examples of how socialism is a great thing for the US and then turn around and bang on how poorly educated our citizens are and how high our crime rate is. Your hypocrisy is amazing.
However, it is always off base. Those services are not compulsory, the taxes that pay for those services are not paid by income tax. Income tax is the tax that real Americans object to not sales or property tax which are the taxes that pay for your examples of socialism. A person does not have to buy things and thus doesn’t have to pay sales tax, that person does not have to own property and thus is not forced to pay for schools.
Imagine a single person living on a piece of land in remote Wyoming, they have a garden they raise some livestock, they have a well, police and fire in the area are voluntary, hell this person is a volunteer firefighter. To pay for something simple lets say internet service to keep in touch with the world they sell some of their livestock and fruits and vegetables to neighbors. Now they have income and the Government takes 30% of what this person makes on the sale of his product to fund killing Iraqi’s, printing dollars to prop up companies that this person will never to business with, pay for the FDA to approve poisons for the doctors to distribute and keep actual healing medicines illegal. How’s that sound because it happens to thousands of Americans. What’s even better is now the government can send this person to jail for selling food products that they deem unfit.
Hell I send my kids to private school which I pay handsomely for, because I don’t trust the education the wonderful government is spewing and I pay property taxes that send other people’s kids to get a shyt education from the gubment. I’m intelligent enough not to rely on the police to protect my family I protect my family. The police are good for two things giving traffic tickets and drawing chalk outlines around dead bodies. Do you have any examples of the police actually stopping a crime? Ever? I have fire detectors and extinguishers and insurance if my house goes up what’s the fire department gonna do? My kids are safe because I got em out on time, if the fire is controllable I already put it out if not the fire department would never get there on time to put it out it would go up anyway.
