Digital divide changing but not for students torn by it (w/ Video)
When students enter college, they either have it or they don’t. And which side of the digital divide they fall on may well shape their identities and what route they take into careers, suggests a new study. What is Financial Aid?
How much financial aid money will I get if my EFC is O? How much will I have to pay out of pocket?
I plan on attending either UCLA, UC Berkeley, or UC Davis. I believe the cost of attendance is about the same. My EFC is 0, my parents don’t make any money. How much will I have come up with each semester/quarter?
(Please don’t answer saying I won’t get in those school because of budget cuts)
My EFC is 0 as well and I got the max back, $5500. However, you can still get loans, grants, scholarships, and other aid on top of that.

When should I start bargaining my financial aid packages with all of the colleges I applied to?
I’ve applied to Miami University, Michigan, Notre Dame, and California. I’ve received a great financial aid package from Miami, but Michigan only offered me a federal subsidized loan($3500 a year) and being an out of state student, it’s rather expensive. I have yet to hear whether I was admitted to ND and Cal, but should I go ahead and call Michigan to see if they are willing to give me a comparable aid package?
I guess I should rephrase; sorry about that. All of the money I’m being given from Miami is strictly scholarships. Therefore, I was told at one point that once I receive all of the financial info, and I don’t get the best deal from my 1st choice, then I can say what other schools are offering me. I did read an article about a girl who applied to Cal and Harvard and she really wanted to go to Harvard. However, Cal gave her the better deal financially speaking and Harvard matched that amount.
unfortunately it does not work that way, and it would be in your best interest to go ahead and wait and see where you are accepted, what your packages look like, and then try and weigh what is the best school choice for you with the best financial aid package. Unless you have an outstanding SAT (1450 minimum) and were offered scholarship money, not financial aid, you have no weight in trying to up what you are offered. Sorry, I know it sucks. If it was me, I would pick whatever is the best package from the best pick for me. Good Luck!
Cool Gel’n Cap is Family Project
Timothy Panicali wasn’t looking to be an inventor when he first came up with the concept behind Cool Gel’n Cap. Actually, he was trying to prove that he could care for his young son Lukas without help from his wife or mother. Federal Grants
While I was in high school and my early college years (2-year), it wasn’t that hard to meet women. Now that I am a graduate, it just feels a heck of a lot harder to find someone. I guess I took those years for granted :(. Meeting someone at work is something I have always tried to avoid “Don’t meet your honey where you make your money.” Yeah, that old saying holds some truth I guess.
So…where to people that are in their early 20s, out of school, and working usually go to meet people? I don’t have any good friends nowadays – they all moved on to their careers and such, so I can’t have them hook me up with someone they know.
I never was the “nightlife” kind of guy – If I went to a party, it was small and with a group of people I knew pretty well.
Online LOL
actually I met my fiance on WoW over 3 years ago when we were kids (14/15) haha.
Imagine that!
But thats all i can think of other then parties and working ^^..
So the FAFSA aplication is due on March 2, 2008, and I have heard that you need to apply as soon as possible for better chances. What do I do if my parents haven’t filed thir taxes and won’t be getting them until late February? Will that make a difference on how much money i will get? Please, HElp
While you can do an ‘estimator’ FAFSA using last year taxes this is what will happen.
VERIFICATION
When you go back into your FAFSA to put your parents actual 2007 tax numbers in ( this is called a correction) your FAFSA will more than likely get flagged for verification.
It will cost you time and effort and quite honestly, I’d rather work with a ‘clean’ FAFSA.
It’s not going to make a difference this early in the year. If your parents had pretty much the same income in 2007 as in 2006 i would recommend you do the 4caster first. You will have an idea of the aid you might qualify for and then when the taxes are complete do a clean FAFSA for 08-09.
