What scholarships are available for me if I am no longer in high school but I’m 18?
I graduated high school this May but I was not able to start college this year because of financial issues. I have to pay out of state tuition since I have no social security number. In the meantime I am taking a 7 month medical assistant course which ends January and my plan is to enter college (Kennesaw State or Georgia Perimeter) next fall. Even though my medical assistant certification will help me earn a bit more money, I will still need some financial aid. I’m worried that there will be even fewer scholarships available to me since I am no longer a senior in high school. —I APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE!!! THANK YOU!!!
My question for you is, why don’t you have a social security number? If you are able to get one, get it stat. Without a SSN, I honestly don’t see any institution offering you a scholarship. If you have a SSN, there’s a lot of money at different schools, you’ll have to do the research and fill out the applications. I went back to school at 45 and received 1/2 of my $25,000 tuition in scholarship money.
