College Application Help?

I’m getting offers from U.C. Berkely, Davis, Santa CLara U, Brown U , Notre Dame Columbia etc and I need help to know all the deadlines and which financial aid to ask because I can’t possibly afford to pay for the cost of college and my parents don’t have good credit but my grades are good and SAT scores high to even get considered by these colleges and I live in San Jose.

You should visit the website of each college that you’re interested in applying to and look for the application deadlines. It might be helpful to write all of the application due dates on a calender so you can get everything done by the deadline.

Many of the colleges will require a transcript from your high school and also one or more teacher recommendations. You should ask your guidance counselor and teacher(s) as soon as possible so they can help you meet the application deadlines.

If you can’t afford the application fees, you can request a fee waiver from your guidance counselor. You can usually apply to several colleges for free.

As for financial aid, you will have to fill out the FAFSA (free application for financial aid) after January 1st to qualify. Some of the colleges you mentioned (Brown and Notre Dame) will also require the CSS Profile, which is found on the collegeboard website (the same people who give the SAT Test). The colleges may also have separate scholarship applications. Just look up the info that’s required on their website under financial aid. You may want to talk to your guidance counselor at school about financial aid as well. They could probably give you more specific information on the finaid process and deadlines.
